For centuries, people have meditated to connect with God and themselves. Meditation provides a unique, quiet environment where we focus our attention on one thing: a thought, verse, word, or phrase.
Meditation opens us to God's presence in and around us. It invites us to pay attention to the ways God is showing up in our lives and the ways God is speaking to us through Scripture, our bodies, our circumstances, and more.
Adele Calhoun writes that meditation from a Christian perspective is an exercise that puts our "body, mind, and spirit on the same page so we can better pay attention to God and treasure what he reveals."
